A Whimsical Dr. Seuss inspired First Birthday for Cruz

I know, it's been months since my last post... Mainly because I've been so busy planning this party!!! I put so much time and work into this little boy's first birthday party, and it was definitely worth it. :)

I made these tissue paper pom-poms that I found on martha stewart's website. I attached all different Dr. Seuss quotes to them and they were hanging on the outskirts of the party. Very cute.
I'm so happy with how these turned out and everyone said they tasted delicious. Green Eggs and Ham.
I tried to think of different Dr. Seuss-ish names for all the food items. Some were easier than others, and some I copied from other Dr. Seuss parties I found online.

"One I Am" high chair banner.
Close up of my eggs. Love the way they came out.
My Mom's friend who is the best scrapbooker in the world helped me with these banners. I love the way they came out as well.
I made all these center pieces with a picture of each month from his life.

The Candy Buffet. Everyone loved it.
Homemade marshmallow pops. Tasty and pretty easy to make.
Ahh my pride and joy... my green egg cakes! Key lime cake with a cream cheese frosting.
Homemade cupcake tier.

The candy buffet sign.

Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes. I was a wee bit bummed with how these turned out. Of course after about an hour or so, the cotton candy started melting into the frosting. The thing1 and thing2 circles are supposed to be taped to the front of the cupcake liner, but the tape wouldn't stick to the shiny foil liners, so we had to be creative and tape them to toothpicks and stick them in the actual cupcake. These were red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Yummy.
Thing1 and Thing 2. Their heads pop-out and become a photo-op. The plan was to have each guest have their picture taken and that would be their thank you card, but not everyone got their picture taken...

Guestbook table. The sign reads, "Wait! Stop here, you see. And leave a very special message to me. A birthday wish or just say Hi to your very favorite One Year Old guy. On the front, the back, or any pages. Its something I will treasure all my ages. Signed, Mayor Cruz (who is 1). Such a cute idea and something that will last a lifetime.
I just love Dr. Seuss and love the way everything turned out. It was a great time and our little man was so blessed. I still can't believe he's one, but that deserves a post all to itself. My how time flies...

SEVEN MONTHS

My sweet baby boy is seven months old already. For me, it seems to be flying by! Chris thinks it seems to be going by alot slower than when Jed was a baby... He really is the sweetest little cuddle bug ever. Jed wasn't much of a cuddler, just a hair-holder, so I'm loving this!

He started crawling last week and holds himself in push-up position for the longest time. So strong!
He sleeps from 6pm-7am and is waking once around 4:30am to get some chee-chee milk and goes right back to sleep. He's taking two naps for about 1-2hrs each.
He still has no teeth, but it looks like they're making their way in... Probably not though.
He has said ma-ma and da-da a couple times and has produced the signs for milk and all-done.
He finally started rolling from his back to belly and sits up so good now.
He's nursing 5x a day and eats solids 2x a day.
He still loves his big brother and lights up whenever he sees him.
Yesterday he choked on a leaf. Scariest thing ever. Ugh.

I just love him so much...

Well, well, well...

Look who decided to update her blog... ME! And it's because I'm logged onto my online classes and can't seem to find the mental capacity to start my homework... so blogging it is.

Cruz is going to be seven months next week! Aye yi yi. Really can't believe that. He is changing so much and looking more and more like me everyday. Poor Chris. But on the brightside (for him), Jed is starting to look more like him since Cruz is practically my twin. Oh, and his "Daddy haircut" helps alot too.

Cruz is starting to sit up more consistently on his own. He is lazy. He always says "Hey" or "Hi" at the right time like when someone walks into the house. So funny. He loves grabbing his feet... and probably would love sucking on them if his belly wasn't in the way. He weighs just under 22lb now. He's only like the 88% tile now for his weight, so he's starting to "thin out". HA. It seems like he is going to start crawling anyday now. He gets on all fours and does the booty-push, but with more and more power each time. He's going to take off one of these days. And I am going to cry. He has a lot of gas still. No fun for me. Someday he will be able to fart on his own. I look forward to that day. But I'll probably cry. Surprise, surprise. Here's a pic of my beautiful boy.

Jedidiah is seriously the funniest craziest child I've ever encountered. Ever. He started doing this thing where he transforms into.... umm not sure what it is he transforms into... but it's something. He starts breathing all hard and groaning. Chris and I were peeing our pants just about. He also loves to point out... "You know Mom, Dad likes you. Give him a kiss." And vice versa. Super cute and a sweet little reminder to smooch eachother more often. If that's possible. JK. It is. Especially with V-day around the corner. Side-tracked. Sorry. Back to Jed. He started going to gymnastics last month which was really cool the first couple times. Then he didn't really want to go back. I'm pretty sure it's because he can't just run wild in the gym doing whatever he wants. He has to follow instruction. Weird. But he looked so cute on the bars and pummel horse. Like a little Russian boy. Geez. Love hiim. Here's a couple pics of my older beautiful boy.
Chris has a new obsession. Well, not new, just more severe. Fishing. Not just fishing, but wanting to become a pro fisherman like for real. He joined a bass club for goodness sake! HA. Makes me laugh. Especially when he interupts me from my blogging to help him spool the line on his reel. Good grief. That would be sweet if he did become a pro... those guys make bank at tournaments. But whatever makes him happy.

This is a picture of the boys on our trip to Bass Pro Shops this past weekend. Jed scored with a new Sheriff hat. (His cowboy boots were left in the car.) I have been busy lately with gettin' edumacated, gettin' ripped, gettin' paid, and... uh... making PB&J sandwiches?? Soo... I'm taking Math and English online this semester. Math is a breeze. English, not so much. My ex-marine female teacher assigns sooo much dang homework. It's insane. A few weeks ago, I started going to "Booty Camp" with my mother in law. 5:15am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is sooo much fun. I'm watching what I eat too. Even more fun. But so far I'm down 8lb from my pre-preg weight so that's exciting. And most of my pants are baggy now. Too bad your clothes can't shrink with you. :/ I've been busy working on our taxes. Which can be a daunting task when you have your own business. Numbers have been playing duck-duck-goose in my head for the past week! But I'm just about done, and we're actually getting money back this year! Sweet. Welp... that's about it. I will leave you with a few funny pics of the two little beings that consume my every thought.
